    Registered Nurse Needed in Santa Maria, CAAre you a Registered Nurse who likes working with the student demographic population, enjoys working with primary-age school students, and supports the training and development of LVNs and LPTs?The Registered Nurse will be on a team of care professionals that are responsible for direct care and case management, intake, and devising care plans from 504 dev and IEP dev.

    This role provides leadership in care decisions and works closely with the health team.

    In this role, you will be responsible for hearing, vision, scoliosis screenings, and training like Epi-pen, seizure protocol, administration of medication, etc.

    This role does not require a school nurse certificate; however, one would need to attain this credential over time.

    Competitive hourly wages, with weekly pay & direct depositPay: $60+ per hour based on experience as a nurse not necessarily in the school environment, any RN interested with a BSN encouraged to applyEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Serves as a health education resource person to staff and pupils.

    Assists teachers in providing instruction in health.
    Conducts screening to determine medical problems and makes referrals related to health problems.
    Refers parents of pupils needing medical care or welfare assistance to appropriate private or community resources.
    Conducts programs directed toward the control of communicable diseases.
    Maintains a health record for each pupil.
    Notifies teachers of physical or health problems of pupils.
    Provides emergency nursing service for ill and injured pupils at school.

    Notify parents about illness, physical defects, and potential health problems of their children and provides health counseling directed toward appropriate action.

    Provides direction to health aides.
    Collaborate and work closely with health clerks and school secretaries.
    Perform other related duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:
    Must hold a Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN)Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse licenseAt least (6) six months of paid practical hands-on experience as Pediatric NurseCurrent California Driver's LicenseProof of eligibility to work in the US and must have a reliable car/auto insuranceSuccessfully pass annual competency checksClean background and criminal record and must pass a drug testPre-placement TB Test, Pre-placement Physical, and Current CPR
