    Geotech Engineer (All Levels)

    The Geotech Engineer will provide technical computer modeling, analysis, and development of detailed designs for low-maintenance/low-cost, earthwork projects. They will manage projects and initiatives associated with clay disposal, dragline crossings, and various mining activities. Provides technical analysis to support the day-to-day activities for mining operations. This position is located at South Pasture mine in Bowling Green, FL. Encompassing 25,000+ acres, The South Pasture Mine began operations in 1978.

    Phosphate rock is sent via rail and truck to other Mosaic manufacturing facilities to be further processed into finished phosphate products.

    What You'll Do


    Manage the front-end engineering of mining/geotechnical related projects, i.e., clay disposal, utility installations, creek crossings, mining equipment relocations, and other projects in support of mining operations.

    Provides technical computer modeling, analysis, and development of geotechnical designs.
    Provide geotechnical engineering support appropriate for problem solving of mining related issues associated with soil mechanics, hydraulics, storm-water management and open channel flow
    Monitor clay settling area performance, development, and implementation of monitoring programs and other technically related analysis
    Miscellaneous projects

    What You'll Need


    Required for ALL Levels:
    Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required; Civil Engineering
    Strong skill level in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook. Computer modeling experience.
    Excellent analytical skills
    Effective in applying EHS practices, policies and goals.
    Ability to develop innovative solutions and supports and promotes continuous improvement
    Knowledge of mining, beneficiation and/or concentrate operations
    Experience in budgeting or operational cost evaluation
    Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivated, good collaborator, good communicator
    Ability to work in a team environment and interface with all levels of management

    Preferred For ALL Levels

    Professional Engineering (PE) License preferred
    ACAD and GIS preferred
    Knowledge of plant computer applications

    Engineer I

    0-2 years manufacturing industry experience working in an Engineering and/or Operations related role required.

    Engineer II

    2+ years manufacturing industry experience working in an Engineering and/or Operations related role required.

    Engineer III

    4+ years manufacturing industry experience working in an Engineering and/or Operations related role required.
    4+ years phosphate industry experience working in an Engineering and/or Operations related role preferred.
    Ability to perform complex assignments with limited guidance and completes them within established deadlines.

    Engineer Senior

    8+ years manufacturing industry experience working in an Engineering and/or Operations related role required.
    8+ years phosphate industry experience working in an Engineering and/or Operations related role preferred.
    Ability to lead multiple projects of significant impact to the organization and identify problems and develops solutions. Makes independent studies, analyses and recommendations
