Position:
Middle School Computer Teacher

Location:
Calumet City, IL

Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver computer science curriculum aligned with state standards and district goals
Teach computer science and technology classes to students in middle school and high school
Instruct students on computer programming, coding, digital literacy, and other relevant topics
Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to engage students in handson learning experiences
Foster creativity and critical thinking skills through projectbased learning and problemsolving activities
Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their technological proficiency
Integrate technology into the classroom effectively, utilizing software and hardware resources
Collaborate with other computer teachers and faculty to coordinate computerrelated events and initiatives
Stay updated on current trends and advancements in computer science and educational technology
Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance
Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and achievements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
Valid teaching certification in Computer Science or Technology Education
Prior experience teaching computer science or technology at the middle or high school level
Proficiency in computer programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++
Familiarity with software applications, hardware systems, and network fundamentals
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to create an inclusive and collaborative learning environment
Strong organizational and time management skills

Contract Details:

Would be working with grades 68
Special Education students
Start Date: 08/19/2024
End Date: 06/06/2025
Salary will be competitive and based on qualifications and experience.
Contract renewal may be considered based on performance and availability of positions in subsequent years.
