    Summary:
    The Sr.

    Forensic / Accident Reconstruction Engineer works with engineering staff in reconstructing vehicular accidents and requires excessive experience in forensic engineering.

    This role would require traveling to onsite vehicular accidents, assessing situation leading to the accident, reconstructing the accidents, build 3D models, and accurately analyze crash patterns, and provide written conclusions to determining contributing factors of the accidents.

    The role requires familiarity with legal depositions, working with attorneys, clients, and adjusters. Additionally, the ideal candidate has an established network of external clientele (e.g. lawyers, individual clients, insurance carriers, etc) and is experienced with building, establishing, and maintaining rapport with this network.

    Role & Responsibilities:
    Must have experience with establishing clientele and rapport with insurance carriers, lawyers, and/or adjusters.
    Must have testifying experience or legally deposed as an expert witness.

    Conducts accident investigations by going to accident scenes and measuring the roadway with 3D laser scanners and other documentation techniques such as photography and videography.

    Inspects and measures vehicles.
    Travel to vehicle and site locations to perform investigations.
    Performs black box downloads with sophisticated engineering tools.
    Creates scaled drawings of the subject roadway and/or vehicles (automobiles, heavy trucks, motorcycles, etc.) for preliminary accident reconstruction.
    Analyzes vehicle crush patterns and conducts considerable research (vehicle specs, crash test data, maintenance history, etc.)
    Processes 3D laser scan point cloud data using engineering workstation computers.
    Constructs scaled 3D drawings of the scene or vehicle
    Performs simulations of the collision with advanced collision reconstruction software such as PC-Crash.
    Utilizes engineering principles to calculate factors such as impact and departure speeds, collision forces, and trajectories of the vehicles.
    Compares calculations with crash test reports of similar collisions to correlate damages based on speed and velocity.
    Reads papers and journals related to vehicular accident reconstruction to advance the scientific techniques used in the reconstruction work.
    Creates reports detailing the accident reconstruction process.
    Provides written conclusions to assist with determining the contributory factors of an accident.

    Qualifications:
    Minimum of 10 – 15 years of experience in automotive, aerospace, manufacturing, or similar required.
    Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required.
    Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
    Expert in CAD
    Holds a valid PE license
    Familiarity with automotive engineering and automotive control systems.
    Familiarity with categorizing work under billable hours.
    Experience with handling depositions as a field expert and providing court room testimonies.
    Must be located in the city/state of job post or intend to relocate to said city/state.
    Experienced working with insurance carriers, attorneys, and/or adjusters.
    Knowledge or experience in understanding and performing computer simulations
