    Position Overview:?

    We are seeking a creative and driven Senior Underwriter to join our ever-expanding team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of underwriting experience in builders risk (inland marine and construction). As a Senior Underwriter, you will play a key role in evaluating risk, assessing exposures, and pricing policies to ensure profitability and sustainable growth while working side-by-side with our technology deployment team through the project lifecycle.

    Responsibilities:?

    • Evaluate and underwrite builders risk insurance submissions in accordance with company underwriting guidelines and standards.
    • Analyze construction project details, including scope, location, budget, and timelines, to assess risk factors and determine appropriate coverage and pricing.
    • Review and analyze loss history, claims data, and other relevant information to make informed underwriting decisions.
    • Collaborate with brokers, agents, and clients to negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing for new and renewal business.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including brokers, agents, clients, and reinsurers.
    • Provide guidance and support to junior underwriters and assist in their professional development.
    • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory developments to identify opportunities and potential risks.
    • Up to 20% travel.

    Qualifications:?

    • 3-5 years of underwriting experience in builders risk, inland marine, or construction required.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex risks and make sound underwriting decisions.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
    • A cooperative, team-focused mentality and ability to manage group projects as both lead and contributor.
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Insurance industry certifications (e.g., CPCU, ARM) are a plus.
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or related field preferred.
