Bright Light Academy is seeking an experienced Summer Camp Assistant Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least two full years of experience working with children. Our summer camp program serves children Pre-K through 5th grade is designed to engage & stimulate learning & development while also providing a fun alternative to school
Responsibilities:

• Work cooperatively with lead teacher to implement center's camp curriculum & create an immersive experience
• Help create a safe & stimulating environment for children.
• Monitor and engage with children during playtime, meals & other daily routines.
• Provide individual & group support to children as needed.
• Communicate regularly with parents about their child's development & progress.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of child development & age-appropriate teaching strategies.
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Must be patient, nurturing & able to create a positive learning environment.
• Flexibility in scheduling is a plus.

Skills Required:

• 2 years of experience in early childcare, childcare, education or related experience.
• An Associate's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Ed., Elementary Ed. or Children & Families preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 40lbs., see, hear & sit on the floor with children
• To pass state, federal & child abuse background checks.
• To be 18 years or older & legally able to work in the United States.

This is a SUMMER position, starting the week of June 3rd through August 24th. For candidates with an Early Learning or Elementary Ed. or Children & Families degree and multiple years of experience, pay ranges from two years of experience working with children but no higher degree salary range is $15-$17.50 per hour & for those with a degree in ECE, ELE Ed. or other related degree, the hourly range is $17 - $19 per hour (based on level of experience & degree) Bright Light Academy is open five days a week, but staff work a FOUR-DAY WORK WEEK.
