    Job Summary:


    Directs staff engaged in providing career technical education training for all students, and ensures departmental programs and standards meet all DOL, PRH, Center and ParadigmWork'srequirements.

    Ensures that instruction is rigorous and relevant; collaborates with academic supervisor to provide applied academics in trades. Works with work-based learning coordinator and Career Transition Readiness staff to place students in work-based learning and permanent employment.


    Duties:
    Ensures approved curriculum is being taught.
    Trains, assigns, and supervises vocational program.
    Supervises classroom teaching and completes monthly evaluations of each teacher.
    Prepares and controls budget in cooperation with programs manager and center director.
    Ensure an adequate supply of materials is on hand.
    Monitors Training Achievement Records (TARS) on a weekly basis; audits and documents 10% monthly.
    Ensures instructors maintain proper records on student trainee progress, attendance, etc.
    Acquaints staff with and ensures they carry out their functional working relationships.
    Helps teachers solve problems related to student trainee control and discipline.
    Recommends the hiring and retention of teachers to the programs manager.
    Adjusts class size to increase utilization of staff members or to cover vacationing or absent staff members.

    Works with programs manager and academic supervisor to ensure well balanced classes center-wide, as indicated in Job Corps policies and procedures.

    Coordinates CTST projects.
    Works towards meeting performance management goals.

    Adheres to the CDSS/CSS/BMS Plan to ensure the PCDP is used in a timely, continual, and effective manner to ensure student success.

    Assists with quarterly graduation exercises.
    Complies with DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulations, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and center policies and procedures.
    Maintains good housekeeping in all areas and complies with safety practices.
    Holds staff meetings at least twice a month with instructors. Documents meetings and submits documentation to the programs manager

    Screens and attempts to resolve student problems before referring them to the programs manager, center standards incentive officer or others.

    Models, mentors, and monitors appropriate Career Success Standards.
    Follows CDSS plan and Code of Conduct system daily.
    Evaluates direct reports and makes recommendations regarding disciplinary actions, promotions, and/or merit increases.
    Participates in PRH mandated staff training. Failure to participate may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
    Holds periodic CIC meetings as described in the policies and procedures of Job Corps.

    Continually monitors data center reports related to vocational performance including OMS, CTTRC, and placement information generated on a weekly and monthly basis.

    Also train staff on how to read and interpret reports to correct trade problems.
    Sets monthly trade completion expectations goals for each instructor. Reviews progress and develops corrective action plans as needed.

    Reconciles OMS10 and 20 and CTTRC10 and 20 with CIS and center data each month and submits corrections as needed.

    Ensures that the PCDP is used in a timely, continual, and effective manner to support student achievements.

    Trains and develops vocational instructors to assist with developing jobs, both local and distant, and also trains them on how to provide support services for their students.

    This is accomplished by working closely with CDSS staff, and the ACT/BCL/WBL coordinator. This includes CPP, Vocations, Academics, WBL, Student Leadership and CTR.

    Analyzes LMI data related to the geographic regions that students arrive from and makes necessary recommendations for vocational changes to the RDOL office for trades that are inadequate.

    Experience:
    Minimum of two to three years of related experience and/or training. One to two years of supervisory experience


    Education:


    Bachelor's degree in education from a four-year college or university preferred, or trade certification or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
