Job Description

As a Security Officer - Roving Patrol in Melbourne, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail and mall location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and assist shoppers and tenants with professional customer service. You will observe, document, and communicate concerns, using clear reporting and teamwork to support on-site operations. What You'll Do:

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a retail and mall location.

Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate internal staff and/or public emergency services as needed.

Conduct regular and random patrols throughout common areas, storefront corridors, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and identify concerns.

Monitor and control access to designated areas, assist with visitor directions and tenant inquiries, and support crowd flow during peak shopping periods and special events.

Document and report routine activity, policy violations, hazards, and incident details using required logs and reporting tools, and communicate updates to supervision as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.

Be at least 21 years of age.

Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, which is preferred.

Have CPR certification, which is preferred.

Be able to lift up to 20 lbs, which is preferred.

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
