    Job Summary

    The Commercial Construction Superintendent's responsibility is to provide on-site coordination for all stages the commercial construction project. This includes the careful and accurate coordination of subcontractors, materials and equipment, while ensuring project specifications and company safety standards are being met. The Construction Superintendent shall be responsible for scheduling, quality control, inspection management and job-site safety. The Superintendent will be the point person to set the example and be the face of our company in the locations that we work.

    We are currently hiring for several positions in the North East Florida area.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    Provide leadership of the construction project and establish/maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with clients, on-site staff, subcontractors, and local officials.

    Operate as the Contractor's Quality Control Manager.

    Examine and understand the contract documents, including specifications, drawings, addenda, prime contracts, subcontractor proposals, and contacts. Review for deficiencies, impractical details, code violations and safety concerns.

    Schedule subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and inspections to ensure timely completion and adherence to the project schedule.

    Regularly communicate with project team regarding RFI's, ASI's, and submittals.

    Identify non-compliance with safety standards on the job-site and take steps to mitigate the threats of safety violations.

    Preside over weekly site meetings that will include subcontractors, project team members, and possibly local officials or owners.

    Maintain daily written log of site activity, receive and review daily subcontractor reports of job activity.

    Perform quality control duties and responsibility regarding the work being done on the job-site by subcontractors.

    Assist project manager in verification that subcontractors have completed and fulfilled contractual obligations as it relates to starting and completing their scope of work

    Site work does mean being out in all weather conditions, long periods of standing/walking, and you will have to wear appropriate protective clothing while on site. Ability to stand, walk, and navigate active construction site with uneven terrain while maintaining safety around heavy machinery operations, open trenches, cables, scaffolding, and other potential construction job site hazards for duration of work hours. Ability to lift, push, pull 40+ pounds and use appropriate safety equipment - boots, pants, hard hat, goggles, gloves, etc.

    ****Note - This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Team member may perform additional related duties as required to meet the ongoing organization needs of Compass Group, Inc. Compensation will be directly related to capabilities and experience.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Degree or certification in Project/Construction Management or related technical field – Bachelor's degree preferred
    • Seven (7) years of commercial field experience
    • Preference of five (5) years in site lead role
    • Computer skills with PCs and related software, such as MS Office products – Microsoft Project experience a plus
    • Knowledge of ProCore Project Management Software preferred, or ability to learn new software quickly is a must
    • Familiar with RFI and submittal processes
    • Ability to read and interpret construction and engineering plans
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks
    • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a constructive and timely manner
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, Fall Protection Certifications
    • Reliable transportation
