    IT Network Architect - Wireless & Security

    The IT Network Architect – Wireless & Security is responsible for the installation, configuration, and day-to-day administrative tasks required to support network infrastructure operations.

    This includes the design and implementation of wireless network and network security infrastructure based on system requirements and advanced troubleshooting of these implementations in a distributed environment.

    This is a hands-on operational role with on-call responsibilities, maintaining SLAs for the infrastructure supporting Niagara's critical business applications hosted in the datacenters and remote manufacturing facilities.


    • Leverage tools like Cisco DNAC and Cisco Prime to monitor and analyze the performance of existing Wi-Fi networks to identify deficiencies and implement optimization strategies for improved network efficiency and end-user experience.
    • Design, test, implement, and support secured Wi-Fi networks based on organizational requirements and industry best practices.
    • Conduct site surveys in a distributed Cisco environment using tools like Ekahau to assess environmental factors that may impact Wi-Fi performance.
    • Administer Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) clusters, including monitoring, implementation, certificate renewal, troubleshooting and other maintenance activities.
    • Implementation and management of Cisco WLCs and APs.
    • Develop, implement, and support network access control policies for end user and IoT devices to ensure security compliance.
    • Execute implementation of new systems and upgrades to existing systems.
    • Execute tasks associated with departmental projects to ensure timely completion.
    • Provide operational status updates to IT Management team when needed.
    • Participate in the development of architecture design and integration with existing IT infrastructure.
    • Monitor and maintain IT environment to ensure SLA's are met, and issues are properly escalated.
    • Align tactical objectives with other IT departments.
    • Understand how tactical goals and projects align to departmental budget

    Additionally, the IT Network Architect – Wireless & Security is expected to demonstrate:

    • Proficiency in Cisco routing and switching technologies.
    • Technical Proficiency:
    Experience and background in the relevant technologies. The ability to stay abreast of new Wi-Fi technologies and adapt / apply them to changing business environments. Includes the ability to educate oneself on technologies through not only formal training, but self-study and research. Includes the ability to foster strong vendor and partner relationships.

    • Troubleshooting Skills:

    Ability to analyze complex network issues quickly; Emphasis on troubleshooting ability and problem resolution for network issues and/or application issues.


    • Outstanding Customer/Client Focus
    • Project Management Skills, Time-Management and

    Documentation Skills:
    The ability to prioritize, coordinate and manage multiple tasks / projects simultaneously. Includes information organizational skills, design drawing and documentation.

    • Minimum Qualifications:
    • 10 Years – Experience in Field or similar manufacturing environment
    • 10 Years – Experience in Position
    • 10 Years – Experience managing people/projects

    • List if any travel is required using percentage of time:
    • 25% - on average travels 1 week out of the month
    • Preferred Qualifications:
    • 10 Years– Experience in Field or similar manufacturing environment

    Education


    • Minimum Required:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent work experience.
    • Preferred:
    • Master's Degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent work experience

    Certification/License:

    • Required:
    CCNP or similar certification or equivalent work experience


    • Preferred:
    CWNE, ECSE-D or similar certification or equivalent work experience
    Typical Compensation Range

    Pay Rate Type:
    Salary

    $116, $163,274.00 / Yearly

    Bonus Target: 10% Annual
