    As the Production Manager in a fertilizer manufacturing company, you will oversee the entire production line process, ensuring that work orders are completed on time, products meet quality standards, and the team works safely and efficiently. This role involves managing staff, streamlining processes, and maintaining equipment in a high-volume production environment.

    Job Description:

    Responsibilities:

    • Production Oversight: Supervise the daily operations of the fertilizer production line, including planning, scheduling, and overseeing the manufacturing processes.
    • Team Management: Lead, train, and manage a team of operators, technicians, and other production staff. Ensure staff adherence to production schedules and operational goals.
    • People Development: Organize and execute routine performance reviews for the production staff. Develop skills and abilities within the production staff. Provide pathways for growth.
    • Quality Assurance: Monitor product standards and implement quality-control programs in compliance with ISO 9001 standards to ensure finished products meet quality, efficiency, and safety standards. Address any deviations in quality by adjusting processes and training staff accordingly.
    • Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure all production equipment is functioning optimally. Schedule regular maintenance and oversee repairs to minimize downtime.
    • Safety Management: Enforce strict safety guidelines and company standards. Conduct regular safety audits and participate in the development of workplace safety procedures.
    • Process Improvement: Continuously assess production processes and implement improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs. Utilize Lean manufacturing principles or other efficiency-enhancing methodologies.
    • Inventory Control: Coordinate the movement of raw materials into the production staging bins to meet work order demand. Monitor inventory levels of finished goods and make adjustments to the production schedule to meet customer demand.
    • Work Orders: Upload, print, and organize weekly work orders. Manage changes promptly and communicate effectively to production staff and key stakeholders.
    • WMS/ ERP: Utilize RF scanners to manage the flow of inventory through the warehouse. Troubleshoot issues as they arise.
    • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on production metrics, including volume, quality, staffing, and other operational data to senior management.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in a production management role, preferably in the chemical or agricultural industry.
    • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and lead a team.
    • Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively under pressure.
    • Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of manufacturing processes, chemical handling, and safety regulations in a production environment.
    • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
    • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to oversee multiple operations simultaneously.
    • Computer Skills: Experience using spreadsheets, managing virtual calendars, and organizing documents inside the drive. Ability to trouble-shoot tech issues on the production line and at production workstations.
    • ERP/WMS Skills: Experience using RF scanning systems (WMS) and ERP systems.
    Work Environment:

    The Production Manager typically works in a factory or plant environment where chemical products are manufactured. This position may involve exposure to chemicals, heavy machinery, and loud noise, and requires adherence to strict safety protocols.

    Required Skills
    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Prolonged periods standing at the ship station, heavy lifting, and/or sitting on forklifts.
    • Ability to perform the following physical tasks: sitting, standing, stooping, stretching, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, performing repetitive motions, crunch, crawl, climbing stairs and ladders, carrying boxes, and repeat motions.
    • Exposure to hazards. Includes variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals
    • Must be able to lift 75 lbs. at a time.
