    As a Data Pipeline Engineer on the Data Engineering team, your primary responsibility will be to construct and maintain robust data pipelines, enabling cross-functional teams like Marketing, Product, Analytics, and Data Science to access reliable and actionable data. You will collaborate closely with various teams to evaluate their data requirements and implement scalable solutions that prioritize their key initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain production-quality datasets to support the analytics, data science, and marketing teams.
    • Design, build, and optimize the cloud-based infrastructure for scalable batch and real-time data processing and storage.
    • Work alongside analytics, data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate data needs into scalable technical solutions.
    • Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging tools to ensure pipeline and platform performance and health.
    • Conduct data validation and implement quality checks on production datasets, minimizing data quality issues.
    • Maintain open communication regarding progress, challenges, and resolution steps with relevant stakeholders.

    Qualifications

    • 3+ years of experience building scalable data pipelines in a cloud environment (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
    • 2+ years of experience with dbt, Flink, or Spark for data transformations and BI tools like Sigma or Looker.
    • Advanced skills in Python and SQL.
    • Experience with streaming data frameworks such as Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, GCP Datastream, or AWS Kinesis is a plus.
    • Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CDK).
    • A strong ownership mentality, with a results-driven approach in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
    • A proactive problem solver, always seeking ways to enhance systems and processes.
    • Excellent communication skills, able to influence and collaborate effectively across teams.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • A keen interest in sports.
    • Prior experience in the sports betting industry.
    • Experience in regulated industries with knowledge of data privacy and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
    • Understanding of machine learning concepts, with experience in building ML platforms.

    The target starting base salary for this position ranges from $135,000 to $142,000, with potential equity. Salary offers will be based on various factors, including skills and experience.
