Opportunity Highlights
Summary:
Develops and advances the quality of advanced practice through specialized direct patient care of complex/critically ill and/or intraoperative patients, leadership, consultation, education and research.
Ensures quality of patient care by utilizing established standards of care for specified department and coordination of services with physicians, care managers, social workers, patient care coordinators, therapists and other community agencies as appropriate.
Formal Education Required:
a) Graduate of a nationally accredited Physician Assistant program, MPAS preferred, and have passed the national certification examination administered by the National Commission of Certification of Physicians Assistants
Experience & Training Required:
a) Current license to practice as a physician assistant in the state of Ohio.
b) Minimum one-year experience as advanced practice provider preferred in the acute care setting.
c) BLS certification.
d) ACLS certification
e) Completion of Summa Health System Operating Room Orientation before assisting with surgical procedures based on credentialing/privileging as approved by the Allied Health Credentialing/Privileging Committee of Summa Health.
Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
a) Excellent skills in communication, organizing, self-motivation, accuracy, and time management
b) Ability to read and interpret medical documents, which are commonly found in hospital, clinic or physician office environment.
c) Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
d) Ability to provide necessary care of complex/critically ill and/or intraoperative patients as required by position and requested by institution.
e) Ability to work independently, to prioritize work and solve problems.
f) Demonstrates competency in Microsoft office and all computer programs utilized by the Practice.
g) Ability to manage multiple projects.
h) Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
i) Maintains affiliated hospital privileges as an Allied Health Professional.
j) Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of professionals.
k) Demonstrates flexibility to meet the ever-changing needs of complex/critically ill and/or intraoperative patients and health care team members.

$51.25/hr - $72.80/hrThe salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials.
Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
