Job summary
Directs the daily activities of certified nursing assistants in accordance with current federal state and local regulations
and guidelines established facility policies procedures participates admission discharge transfers residents required observes changes status notifying physician resident family representative documenting accordingly transcribes physician orders medical record carries out orders written prepares administers medications physicians orders observes adverse effects performs wound treatments physicians orders observes changes documents accordingly schedules follow appointments residents transportation needs indicated provides leadership personnel assigned unit provides direct care skills colostomy changes tube feedings wound care suctioning IV administration according current policies procedures performs rounds ensure resident needs being met personnel performing assigned duties collaborates interdisciplinary team needed ensure residents needs holistically met informs appropriate departments concerns complaints files grievances necessary reports incidents unusual occurrences supervisor manager assistant director director of nurses participates end life care required ensures adequate stock medications supplies equipment notifies appropriate personnel needs initiates reviews updates care plans required promotes teamwork mutual respect effective communication participates survey process inspection surveys arise additional tasks treat all residents dignity respect promote protect all residents rights establishes culture compliance adhering facility policies procedures complies standards business conduct state federal regulations guidelines follows safety hygiene measures protect residents themselves maintains confidentiality protected health information including verbal written electronic communications reports noncompliance policies procedures breaches confidentiality appropriate personnel reports allegations abuse neglect misappropriation property exploitation mistreatment resident supervisor administrator protects resident abuse cooperates investigations reports occupational exposures blood body fluids infectious materials hazardous chemicals facility policy participates life safety emergency drills trainings fulfills responsibilities assigned during implementation activation facilities emergency plan reports work-related injuries illnesses immediately supervisor follows established infection control policies procedures completes training skills competency as condition employment.
