    Description


    Insight Global is looking for a Market Design Engineer to support one of our largest clients in the Energy Industry.

    The Market Design Engineer will be responsible for engineering, analytical, and economic studies on overall power market and operation performance, efficiency, behaviors, and the impact of market rules.

    You will also investigate and make improvements to market models and algorithms.

    On a typical day, this candidate will be dealing with energy market data, analyzing that data, using the energy market tools at their disposal to perform analysis, simulate time snapshots that have occurred in the past and see how certain parameters change and how outcomes are effected.

    Once this candidate has a good understanding of market products, they will also be involved in discussions on policy decision, at time having to visualize their findings for MISO's stakeholders, both internal and external.

    The Market Design Engineer will propose, design, develop, and evaluate the new wholesale electricity market design initiatives and impact to market structure due to industry evolvement.

    Masters or PHD


    • NERC Certification
    • Bachelor's Degree
    o Electrical Engineering Degree preferred

    o Related Engineering Degree, Mathematics or Economics also acceptable


    • Experience in the Energy/Utilities industry
    o Atleast 4 years preferred


    • Experience with Data Analytic tools and programming languages (R, Eviews, SAS, Python, VBA, Tableau) OR Power Engineering tools (PSSe, PowerGem, Plexos, Promod, PowerWorld, etc.)
