    Job Description

    The primary role of the Logistics Coordinator is to manage any activity moving our products via barge or vessel from our plant or from resale to our customers or terminals.

    The Logistics Coordinator executes processes from securing, loading and delivery of barges or vessels to our customers or terminals. Included is communication with the 24/7 production plant, sales, accounting, outside suppliers and others as necessary.

    Key Responsibilities
    Coordinate shipments to customers and company terminals efficiently.
    Support sales team to meet customer requirements.
    Identify cost-effective transportation solutions and build vendor relationships.
    Ensure adherence to company policies and logistics best practices.
    Address supplier performance issues and optimize supply chain.

    Research and propose strategies for cost-effective logistics.
    Utilize ERP systems and spreadsheets for tracking and reporting.
    Maintain accurate records of logistics transactions.
    Collaborate with inventory team for replenishment.
    Assist the business analysts with gathering data for reporting to management.
    Perform data entry for order tracking and invoicing.
    Assist Operations Manager as needed.
    Track shipments and communicate updates.
    Process sales orders and manage supplier documentation.
    Coordinate legal review of contracts and terms.
    Manage compliance with supplier insurance requirements.
    Prioritize tasks with a sense of urgency.
    Perform other assigned duties.

    Responsibilities:
    Assist in ERP training for staff.
    Enter receipts and shipments into ERP systems for invoicing.
    Provide necessary documentation to customers.
    Resolve invoice and purchase order discrepancies with vendors.
    Review accruals quarterly.
    Maintain spreadsheets as needed.

    Qualifications
    A four-year degree in Business or directly applicable work experience.
    1-3 years' experience, preferably within the marine or commodity industry.
    Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and customer service skills.
    Strong PC skills (MS products, Adobe), including experience utilizing the Internet as a resource.
    Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally.
    Dynamic personality to work with multiple types of employees.
    Strong and diverse experience in all areas of logistics.
    Experience in expediting and negotiations in the logistics process.
    Willingness to complete all work that is necessary, especially during busy seasons.
