- Collect, log, order, process, and ship urine, oral, and/or hair specimens to the laboratory
- Maintain organization of the collection site
- File requisitions, chain of custody forms, and associated paperwork
- Collect and scan insurance, as applicable
- Order Supplies (requisition forms, gloves, collection supplies, etc.) and manage inventory at practice location to ensure collection supplies are always stocked
- Communicate client inquiries to Manager and/or Client Services team
- Perform any other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED, required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience dealing directly with customers or patients required
- Background in healthcare, criminal justice, or a related field is advantageous
- Ability to conduct observational collections and gather biological specimens is mandatory
- Capacity to work professionally without on-site supervision is a must
- Keen eye for detail with exceptional verbal and written communication skills is essential
- Adept at working under pressure, meeting tight deadlines, and defusing tense situations with participants in potentially stressful or dynamic scenarios without on-site supervision
- Basic computer proficiency is necessary
- Capable of light to moderate physical exertion (lift/carry up to 25 lbs.) and prolonged periods of sitting/standing required
- Comfortable wearing scrubs and protective gear (gloves) is mandatory

Description
We are looking for a proactive Specimen Collections Technician to join our Field Operations team in Peoria, IL.
As a Specimen Collections Technician, your main responsibility will be to conduct collections for individuals mandated to undergo drug screenings as part of their obligations within the criminal legal system or mental health treatment.
Shift:
Monday-Friday, 10am-4pm
Salary:
$15.00-$17.00 per hour
