    About the Role

    We are seeking a Sales Strategy & Analytics Manager who thrives on delving into data and crafting compelling customer presentations, while also providing high-level insights across the organization. This role will involve collaborating with both the Food Service and Retail teams to analyze business performance and identify trends that influence our operations. You will work closely with leadership to shape comprehensive sales strategies, playing a pivotal role in evaluating strategy effectiveness and facilitating rapid iterations to empower our sales team's success. Your ability to roll up your sleeves and contribute significantly will make you an indispensable member of our team.

    You will:

  • Analyze consumption and shipment data, industry and consumer trends for assigned customers and markets, deriving meaningful insights and generating actionable recommendations to drive business growth.
  • Collaborate closely with farm partners, such as GFS and UNFI, remotely and in person to maximize growth and strengthen relationships with SQR Sales and the partner's sales organizations.
  • Collaborate closely with the Marketing team and leverage your insights and expertise to support the development of effective marketing, brand, and portfolio management strategies that align with our overall business goals.
  • Regularly assess and report on the health of our brand, including growth, velocities, and other relevant metrics, both at the customer and organization level helping SQR to identify opportunities for improvement and inform strategic decisions.
  • Contribute to the development of Square Roots' selling story quarterly business reviews by identifying positioning and key messages that support the acquisition of new business. Work collaboratively with the sales and creative teams to create an effective selling template.
  • Evaluate industry and consumer trends and leverage data and insights, to develop strategies to enhance trade marketing effectiveness.
  • Manage customer portals, including tasks such as new item setup, pricing maintenance, score-carding, and utilizing available analytics to gain valuable insights.
  • Support the Senior Director of Strategy and Planning in the forecasting process by providing insights on assigned customer trends, promotions, and other variables that may impact demand.
  • You have experience with:

  • Utilizing syndicated and custom research as well as internal shipment data. You will be experienced in developing concise, actionable weekly updates for both customer and internal management.
  • Translating organizational strategies into impactful customer recommendations, and developing concise selling stories that align Square Roots and customer goals.
  • Working cross-functionally with sales to identify tools needed, and then working internally with the marketing and creative teams to develop those tools.
  • Experience working with major retail and distributor portals in support of sales tasks. (GFS experience preferred)
  • Forecasting processes, able to identify drivers of past performance and quantifiable inputs into future expected demand.
  • Direct customer engagement, QBR, line reviews. Experience with Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Excel.
