    Description


    The City of Berkeley is currently seeking candidates for the role of Health Services Program Specialist. In this position, you will be responsible for planning and overseeing a specialized health program. Your duties will involve developing operational procedures, evaluating fiscal matters, and managing budgets. Additionally, you will collaborate with program staff to ensure seamless integration of planning and evaluation processes with program operations.



    Requirements:
    • College or university degree with a focus on public health, healthcare, or related social services fields
    • Minimum of two years of experience in healthcare or social services
    • Preferably, one year of supervisory experience involving budgeting and program development

    As a candidate, you should be open to working flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and be willing to travel to various locations both within and outside the City of Berkeley to fulfill job requirements. Possession of a valid California driver's license and a clean driving record are essential for travel purposes.

    The selection process may consist of:
    • Reviewing applications for minimum qualifications and necessary documents
    • Assessing responses to the Supplemental Questionnaire
    • Participation in an Oral Board Exam scheduled for the week of June 24, 2024
    • Various assessment exercises evaluating skills such as typing, math, communication, problem-solving, and technical proficiency
    Kindly note that the examination procedures and dates are subject to potential adjustments without prior notice based on organizational requirements.

    Individuals who successfully complete all phases of the evaluation will be placed on an eligible list for employment, from which hiring departments will conduct final selection interviews.
