    Job Position: Welder - Shell Catalysts Turnaround (Night Shift 6p-6a)

    Location: Port Allen, LA 70767

    Pay Rate: $50.00/hr

    Shift: 6P to 6A

    Description: AMMON Staffing is seeking experienced Flux Core Arc Welders (FCAW) to support a turnaround project at the Shell Catalysts facility in Port Allen, LA. This role includes FCAW welding on carbon plate and stainless steel, with a strong focus on safe execution, quality repairs, and production pace. Candidates must be comfortable performing arc gouging and fillet weld repairs, and working at heights on scaffolding while using fall protection.

    Shift / Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Day or Night). Turnaround schedules may run up to 712s depending on project needs.

    Key Responsibilities:
    Perform FCAW (wire feeder) welding on carbon plate and stainless steel components (including drums as applicable).
    Use arc gouging to remove cracked/defective fillet welds prior to repair.
    Execute fillet weld repairs to project specifications and quality standards.
    Maintain clean, consistent welds suitable for inspection, including dye penetrant testing where required.
    Work safely and efficiently at heights on scaffolding, following fall protection procedures.
    Follow all site safety rules, PPE requirements, pre-task planning, and permit processes (as applicable).

    Requirements:
    Proven experience as an industrial FCAW welder (turnaround/maintenance work preferred).
    Strong proficiency with arc gouging and fillet weld repair work.
    Ability to weld on both carbon steel and stainless steel.
    Ability to work at heights and properly use fall protection.
    Safety Alliance Basic Orientation Plus (or refresher) required.
    Must complete Shell site-specific orientation/training (provided prior to start).
    Must comply with all site-specific PPE requirements (minimum): hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, steel toe boots and fall protection harness when required.

    Nice to Have:
    Previous experience at Shell sites or other petrochemical/industrial turnarounds.
    Comfortable working in fast-paced repair environments (gouge/grind/repair cycle).
    Confined space familiarity (if assigned-site requirements apply).
