    Job Summary:

    Under the direction and supervision of the professional nurse, the Emergency Department Technician is responsible for providing direct patient care of all age groups from neonate through geriatric, assisting with patient transfers, repositioning, transporting of patients, obtaining supplies, or specimens; and any other duties as deemed necessary to ensure optimal patient care and physician service.


    Qualifications:

    Education:
    High school diploma or equivalent preferredMedical background is preferred.


    Experience:
    Prior job experience in the medical field, patient care, and knowledge of medical terminology is preferred. Both clerical and patient care skills are preferred for advancement to EDT Level II.


    Licenses/Certifications:
    Satisfactory completion of BCLS and Basic Dysrhythmia courses
