Yearlong programs focus on quality care, leadership development, financial strength and data analysis in clinics that represent the backbone of care for L.A.'s poor and uninsured. More than two-thirds of the community clinics in Cedars-Sinai's service area are participating in this initiative, designed to develop capabilities that will enable them to more optimally respond to patients' complex needs over the long term in a changing healthcare landscape.

    Summary of Duties:

    • Ensures the safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients
    • Provides care and patient education on disease prevention and restorative measures
    • Provides direct and indirect patient care services, including, but not limited to, the administration of medications and therapeutic agents vital to implement the treatment, disease prevention, or rehabilitative plan of care
    • Performs skin tests, immunizations, phlebotomy, central line access, and care if applicable, and the initiation of peripheral venous access
    • Observes signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to medications/treatments, general behavior, and/or general physical condition
    • Implements appropriate reporting, referrals, and care
    • Provides care to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds. Identifies patient's readiness for learning and ability to understand directions/instructions and give consent

    Educational Requirements:

    Assoc. Degree/College Diploma Nursing
    Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (state accredited program) preferred

    Licenses:

    RN State License California State RN License Upon Hire
    Basic Life Support (BLS) Require BLS unless a higher level of certification is required Upon Hire
    ANCC Specialty Certification Specialty Certification 1 Year
    Other Competencies, as required by your specialty unit (ex. ACLS, PALS, fetal heart monitoring) 1 Year

    Experience:

    3 years Relevant acute care experience in their area of specialty
    1 year Must be a Clinical Nurse II at CSMC for at least one (1) year, to be promoted within the clinical ladder.
