    responsibilities:
    Leads a design team for multiple potable water supply, treatment, storage, and distribution design projects, overseeing the preparation of design plans and specifications

    Plans, directs, assigns, reviews, and evaluates the work of assigned staff, including conducting performance evaluations and career development profiles

    Coordinates internal and external resources, including consultants, to ensure timely completion of design projects, collaborating closely with asset management staff, operations, customer service, and water quality staff

    Prioritizes design projects, monitors project schedules and budgets, and implements corrective actions as necessary

    Ensures the design team meets schedules and budgets for all water supply and distribution design projects

    Performs quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) on design projects by other engineers and consultants, and oversees QA/QC of the design team

    Engages and manages consultants, reviewing their invoices

    Reviews and provides input on submittals and field changes during the construction phase

    Represents or assists in representing the company in public settings regarding projects

    Provides engineering design services for Capital Improvement Programs and related documents, including preliminary design reports, project cost estimates, cost/benefit analysis, value engineering reviews, and various evaluations and reports on system hydraulics, water supply, distribution, storage, treatment, and water quality projects

    Provides engineering design services or supervises design services for new business projects
