    Position Title: The Play Enrichment Program-Head Start Therapist -

    Responsibilities:

    • Primarily responsible for providing clinical services relating to intake, screening, referrals including but not limited to case management services and psychotherapy for Head Start.
    • Classroom consultation and observations
    • To maintain the clinical records system in accordance with ODMHSAS, OHCA, and CREOKS policies and procedures
    • To attend and regularly present cases in a case conference
    • To read, understand and be knowledgeable of all current policies and procedures and subsequent updates to those policies
    • Maintain daily billing average as assigned by supervisor
    • Maintain a full caseload as assigned and provide direct services to clients (F/T/Staff)
    • Complete billing and documentation on a daily basis
    • Treat all types of clients within the Head Start community
    • Maintain cultural competency and therefore recognize that the individual juvenile client and family have different barriers to social, economic, and employment opportunities and have varied levels of need to overcome those barriers
    • Develop cooperative working relationships with all agencies serving juveniles, from which a client might be expected to receive direct or indirect services, as well as establishing and maintaining a therapeutic relationship with those juvenile clients and their families who are in need of support
    • Support and promote a service environment for individuals in need of behavioral health and/or co-occurring services that is recovery focused, welcoming, and attentive to the needs of individuals who may have experienced trauma in their lives
    • Be accessible for consultation to Head Start personnel and provide crisis intervention and de-escalation services
    • Provide a minimum of one, maximum of two presentations for parents at a regularly scheduled parent meeting on topic of mental wellness in children and families
    • Participate in required Play Therapy training and consultation
    • All other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology or related degree
    • Possess a valid Oklahoma license or license eligible to practice psychotherapy
    • Basic knowledge and understanding of developmental stages
    • Basic knowledge and understanding of treatment modalities, i.e. individual, group, family, and applicable clinical skills
    • Excellent verbal, written communication skills
    • Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
    • Core competencies in relation to individuals with co-occurring disorders
    • Conceptual awareness of how and where community mental health services interface with allied human services organizational activities
    • Skilled understanding of psychological testing techniques
    • Specialized training in play therapy in order to provide services
