    • ClericalDescriptionSummaryUnder the direction of the President/CEO, the Grant Writer is responsible for developing and writing inquiries, letters, stay up to date on all grant changes and policies, and proposals requesting funds to support Bobby E.
    Wright's programs and services.

    Role and ResponsibilitiesResearch, identify, write and submit grant proposals for local, state, federal and private foundation funding sources for specific projects and programs, while following all requirements and deadlines for grant applications.

    Develop and maintain a grants calendar to monitor submissions, awards, and renewals/continuation of current grant funding.
    Communicate and update the agency and corresponding collaborative grants that may include City, State, and Federal policies.
    Write accurate and interesting inquiries, letters and proposals requesting funds from individuals, corporate and foundation prospects. Write acknowledgement letters and reports to corporate and foundation donors.
    Use various search engines and other resources to identify funding opportunities that fit the mission of the agency.
    Prioritize and manage multiple projects in a timely manner throughout the entire grants process.
    Develop relationships and collaborate with key organizations and grant opportunity networks. Identify new funders to support programs. Ensure that all submissions and correspondences with foundation and corporate staff is completed on time. Maintain tracking system for grant, renewal, and report deadlines. Monitor results of written requests, such as proposal acceptance rate. Maintain accurate computer and hard copy records.

    Work in conjunction with administrative and fiscal staff to ensure that corporate and foundation gifts are logged in a database.

    Assist in other fundraising and engagement activities, such as presentations, meeting with funders, etc.

    Participates in local, state, regional and national workshops, conferences and meetingsCultivate donors by producing specialized correspondences, preparing letters of acknowledgment, scheduling and attending in-person visits.

    QualificationsQualifications and Education RequirementsAbility to prepare accurate and persuasive grant proposals to maximize potential for receiving grant funds.
    Evidence of success in obtaining local, state and federally funded grant proposals.
    Minimum bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
    Experience in technical writing, proof-reading, editing, copy writing, grant writing or equivalent written communication format.
    Service oriented, empathetic, and able to interact and develop rapport with a diversified population.
    Must pass mandatory background checks and pre-employment drug screen.
