    Summary



    As a Supervisory Aerospace Engineer, you will serve as the Deputy Chief of the Commercial Crew Program (CCP) Office, Safety and Mission Assurance (SMA) Directorate. You will be responsible for working with and representing the Office Chief in the management, supervision, and evaluation of operations and activities of the office, including safety and mission assurance activities related to the certification and flight readiness of CCP launch vehicles, spacecraft, and ground equipment/facilities.



    Duties

    • Assist the Office Chief and act on their behalf with planning and developing SMA efforts for the program, including complex projects with multiple interfaces and extensive scope and variety.
    • Make substantial and continuing contributions to long-range program and project planning. Secure resources and identify strategic objectives for the organization.
    • Develop the CCP SMA organizational structure, functional responsibilities, and relationships to achieve overall agency objectives.
    • Define jobs, technical work requirements, and milestones; select employees and assign work.
    • Recommend employee promotions and recognition, approve leave, implement performance modifications, and take corrective action as appropriate.
    • Serve as an authoritative source of information for decisions and guidance concerning changes in program and project objectives relating to the management of the SMA office and resources in support of the CCP Office.
    • Evaluate and develop SMA policy and processes, including activities executed by CCP SMA personnel at Kennedy Space Center, Johnson Space Center, Marshall Space Flight Center, Goddard Space Flight Center, and Resident Offices.
    • Coordinate with other centers and offices with the program/project to establish content, cost, and schedule of products, deliverables, and services.
    • Perform a full range of supervisory duties which includes assigning and evaluating work; recommending personnel actions; taking disciplinary actions; and identifying training needs and developing employees.
