    Job Summary:
    The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor is responsible for providing and supervising technical support for pharmacy
    operations in accordance with The Georgia State Board of Pharmacy, The Joint Commission, DEA, USP 797, and any other
    regulatory and accrediting agencies. The position will act in accordance with protocols, health-system policies and
    procedures, applicable standards, and pharmacy best practices. The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor will also be
    responsible for furthering the hospital's mission of education.

    Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
    Hires, supervises, manages and evaluates pharmacy technicians in their respective areas and staff as
    needed. Provides and enhances the quality and delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients. Safely prepares
    medications for dispensing, sterile or non-sterile compounding while ensuring completeness and accuracy
    of documentation per hospital standards. Safely dispenses medications to patient care areas or other health
    care personnel ensuring all products are scanned according to hospital policy.
    Actively participates in the development and implementation of performance/quality improvement and
    patient safety initiatives inside and outside the department, including medication event/adverse reaction
    reporting and follow-up, medication use evaluation/improvement, cost containment actions.
    Supports the education and professional development of the Pharmacy Department and other hospital
    disciplines (nursing/medical/etc.). Precepts residents, pharmacy students, or pharmacy technicians as
    assigned. Participates collegially in the development of new programs, services, and practices, educational
    activities of the pharmacy department and medical team.
    Manages the inventory and improves the inventory practices of the pharmacy, including ordering/receipt,
    storage, and perpetual inventory (as applicable). Also maintains medication safety and regulatory
    compliance by monitoring expiration dates and corresponding documentation, ensuring adequate supplies
    on hand to meet current and projected future patient needs. Ensures temperatures are maintained and
    recorded per hospital policy.
    Obtains/maintains needed credentials and training and engages in professional self-development.
    Completes medical center/pharmacy competency requirements by deadlines. Establishes regular meetings
    with manager. Enhances professional and technical knowledge/competency by attending seminars,
    continuing education programs, department meetings, etc. Demonstrates active membership/
    service/leadership in professional organizations.
    Performs other duties as assigned
    Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

    Required Minimum Education:
    High School Diploma General or GED General or Accredited Program Pharmacy-Preferred

    Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
    All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

    CPHT - Cert Pharmacy Tech
    PHT - Registered Pharmacy Tech

    Additional License(s) and Certification(s):

    Required Minimum Experience:
    Minimum 3 years hospital pharmacy Required and
    Minimum 5 years hospital pharmacy and previous supervisory experience. Preferred and

    Required Minimum Skills:
    Exceptional organizational skills, strong interpersonal/communication skills and customer service focus; attention to detail, ability to multitask and prioritize, math and computer proficiency
    Strong critical thinking and problem-solving ability, demonstrated commitment to safe medication practices, patient safety, evidence of self-motivation and the ability to work independently and within a team, flexibility and able to accommodate changing priorities
