Chainman - Campbell, United States - Sandis

Sandis is currently looking for a Chainman/Rodman for our Campbell, CA office. The ideal candidate is a team-player who can also work independently, is self-motivated and an early bird (enjoys working 6am – 3:00pm) with opportunities for overtime.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist and ensures accuracy in all types of surveys, including, but not limited to, construction staking, As-Builts, ALTA, topographic, boundary and subdivision surveys
• Read and write stakes accurately and legibly
• Train lower-level apprentices in the use of survey equipment (Leica), survey methods and safety standards
• Performs duties as assigned by the Party Chief or Project Manager
• Communicates with Party Chief about any abnormalities discovered in the field
• Maintains survey equipment ensuring it is clean and operational
• Read and interpret construction drawings, maps
  
  

Basic Qualifications, Skills & Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid State driver's license
• Completed or enrolled in the apprenticeship program, with good standing in the union
• Detail-oriented with time management skills
• Physical requirements include the ability to:
  • lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
  • walk over rough and uneven terrain carrying survey equipment.
  • move in and around confined and cluttered places;
  • stand up to 12 hours per day;
  • Use hands to grasp and arms to reach.

Upon employment, may be subject to and must pass random drug testing in compliance with federal, state and client guidelines. Continued employment is dependent on meeting project specific requirements.
