As an expert Data Center Logistics Specialist L3, you will be working in a Data Center on a team of Data Center Logistics Specialists and Leads in collaboration with Data Center Lab Technicians. You will work Onsite Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm (PST) supporting inventory management, shipping and receiving activities, daily logistics activities, triaging support tickets, and documenting processes. You will also collaborate and communicate with adjacent Logistics Specialists, Data Center Lab Technicians, Leads, Engineering staff, Management, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products about information related to the products. You will support both local and regional teams with logistics related requests and requirements. You will also be involved in inventory audits and be responsible for inventory discrepancies and remediation. Day-to-day, this person will be utilizing Sunbird, among other applications, to track incoming, current, and outbound assets. The Data Center Logistics Specialist L3 manages the logistics team's activities and responsibilities. This role is also responsible for providing high-level technical assistance to the team and ensuring service and support is provided to the customer at agreed levels. This role will be required to provide prompt and concise communication with Service Delivery Leadership and Operations Management regularly. As an expert Data Center Logistics Specialist L3, you are expected to possess advanced knowledge and experience working in Data Centers, with inventory, logistics, and related knowledge.

Work Environment

The Data Center Logistics Specialist L3 will be expected to lift equipment of up to 50 pounds daily. They must also work well with teams and tight deadlines. This person will sit within a data center. Although this person will be working alongside a team of Data Center Lab Technicians inside multiple facilities, they must be comfortable working independently in storage rooms. It is critical that this person is very organized and can work in a quickly changing, fast-paced environment.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Works directly with the Operations Manager to coordinate, prioritize, and maintain optimal service execution toward goals and expectations of client-specific key performance indicators.
• Leads and provides coaching for all adjacent logistics specialists when workflow deficiencies are identified.
• Observes and reports on service trends across individuals and service.
• Serves as the main point of escalation for issues that are blocking regional logistics specialists.
• Understands thresholds and demand for local sites, maintaining proper inventory levels for completing client requests.
• Performs trust-but-verify exercises by performing randomized audits of cycle counts.
• Collaborates and communicates with other Logistics Specialists, Data Center Lab Technicians, Engineering personnel, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products about information related to products.
• Management for outgoing/incoming assets in database repository.
• Work with hardware vendors, Asset Supply Management/engineering teams on the details of the orders and technical hardware configurations.
• Provide updates on gaps, issues, trends, other pertinent issues as day-to-day exceptions are addressed.
• Auditing storage rooms to ensure accurate inventory and reporting is an essential function of this role.
• Perform monthly and quarterly asset audits in compliance with financial standards.
• Maintain knowledge related to hardware and optics, and shipping and receiving.
• Documenting and updating workflow related to storage rooms.
• Review open tasks and provide timely updates.
• Ensure compliance with the identified process to maintain an organized and tidy work environment
• Follow the '5S Pillars' methodology (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) for organizing, cleaning, developing, and sustaining a productive work environment
• Ensure compliance with e-waste storage and disposal standards within the data center
• Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety standards within the data center
• Ensure compliance with administrative directives
• De-rack, pack and set for shipping equipment designated by Customer for shipping or disposal.
• Receive IT Hardware at Customer-owned/managed datacenters or Colocation Data Centers.
• Unpacking and staging for mounting hardware installation.
• Rack/Stack IT Hardware according to Rack Elevations provided by Customer.
• Patch Network and Power Cables according to Cable Matrixes by Customer.
• Asset Tag and/or Label IT Hardware and Cables per client Documentation by Customer.
• Provide support on any other Layer 1 tasks as directed by onsite Customer project lead.
• Perform other tasks as directed by management
  

What You Will Need to Succeed

• 3+ years in a related IT or Procurement coordinator role
• 3+ years' experience working in a warehouse, distribution center, or data center tracking and storing inventory as received.
• Baseline understanding of server troubleshooting
• Experience with IT Asset Control
• 3+ years participating in audit activities
• Experience using an ITSM tool
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of computer applications preferably with Slack, Teams, Jira, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office Products
• Current valid driver's license and the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record Check
• Experience handling sensitive technical components
• Experience working with a manual pallet jack and other material handling equipment
• Able to mentor and train others
• Extremely detail oriented and well organized
• Self-starter and can work with ambiguity
• Superior problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize in an extremely high volume and fast paced work environment with constant interruption
• Ability to work within cross-functional teams
• Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects in an efficient and timely manner
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Proven problem-solving skills to develop solutions to improve overall efficiency and overcome inventory problems

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience
• Certifications in technology specific areas, networking, or management preferred

Estimated Pay Range: Exact compensation and offers of employment are dependent on circumstances of each case and will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, licenses or certifications, and location.
