- Oversees plans and schedules Security activities.
- Oversees personnel deployment and level requirements within a shift.
- Inspects and evaluates Security Officers for alertness, appearance and proper performance while on duty and corrects deficiencies.
- Supervises and directs special activities.
- Understands all processes related to Security within a Gaming Corporation.
- Promote safe work practices. Assist in ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and preventive measures.
- Directs investigations of accidents, thefts, property loss and unlawful activities. Document details and advise Management.
- Direct coordination of training in fire life safety, CPR, as well as other programs as necessary.
- Assist as needed with complaints and guest issues. Conduct Security Department meetings. Attend and participate in other required hotel meetings.
- Directly manages monitoring and evaluation of the property conditions.
- Community involvement to include development of relationships within the Gaming Community.
- Act as liaison with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies
- Ensure the provision of uniform and consistent standards related to safety, security, and readiness protocols.
- Review and implement security assessments to identify policy, staffing, and technology requirements that drive continuous improvement.
- Provide oversight and leadership in the event of an incident.
- Frequently walk the property with key department members to identify and formulate strategies for mitigating property issues around security management situations.
- Maintain regular communication with any and all departments regarding security and risk control/loss prevention and liability issues to assure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Develops cost proposals and cost estimates for protective equipment and resources as needed.
- Ensure cross departmental collaboration on policies and procedures that directly impact liability or safety and security issues.
- Provide leadership for the department, including strategic planning, creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and team member satisfaction.

Job DescriptionSUMMARY:
The Executive Director of Security directs actions and monitors behaviors of Security staff to ensure protection of premises to maintain order, enforce regulations, and ensure observance of applicable laws.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly manages the Security department. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining team members, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
All Employees must be knowledgeable to all Company policies and procedures, including fire and safety regulations.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A bachelor's degree is preferred with emphasis on police science, police administrator or social sciences. Prior in-depth law enforcement investigation experience is desirable. Supervisor experience in a law enforcement agency or Corporate security environment. Minimum 10 year's previous experience in similar position within the gaming industry.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Nevada Gaming Control Board registration required.
AVADE Instructor Certification a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to effectively communicate in English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Advanced mathematical comprehension required.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Must have Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) experience.
