- Reviewing new file requests and amendments to existing files for quality and accuracy
- Researching new clients and conducting in-depth research of conflict parties using external databases, such as Hoovers, Dunn & Bradstreet, LexisNexis, and internet searches
- Performing conflict searches on new file requests, identifying potential conflicts of interest, conducting internal and external research on client entity, analyzing and summarizing findings for review of the Ethics Committee and Business Intake Committee.
- Monitoring Conflict Check Requests and Client Intake Approvals email boxes for incoming requests.
- Troubleshooting issues and escalating inquiries to appropriate staff or attorneys as needed.
- Assisting administrative staff with opening new files and processing change tasks.
- Bachelor's degree, paralegal certificate or equivalent experience
- A minimum of two years office or law firm experience preferred
- Working knowledge of MS Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Strong communication skills: ability to interact in both written and oral form with all levels of the organization
- Experience with logic-based searching preferred

Pay Range for Candidates in California:
$50,000 - $67,000per year
The range provided is the minimum and maximum salary that Venable in good faith believes at the time of this posting that it is willing to pay for the advertised position. Exact compensation will be determined based on individual candidate qualifications and location.
