- Diagnose and treat psychiatric disorders
- Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, social workers, psychiatric advance practice registered nurses, or other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress.
- Document treatment and consultation
- Consult with medical team and BH team
- Be responsible for supervising and mentoring residents regarding psychiatric diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mental disorders
- Analyze and evaluate patient data and test or examination findings to diagnose nature and extent of psychiatric disorders and evaluate for co-existing or contributing medical conditions.
- Prescribe, direct, and administer medications to treat psychiatric, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
- Gather and maintain patient information and records, including social and medical history obtained from patients, relatives, and other professionals.
- Performs assessment of new clients and updates returning clients
- Manages and monitors med compliance
- Provides supervision and instruction to residents.
- Keeps records as required
- Documents all patient care activities
- Participates as member of interdisciplinary health care team
- Maintains at least minimum CME certificates as required by American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
- Adheres to all Erie Family Health Center policies & procedures.
- Licensed physician in the state of Illinois
- Proficiency in medical Spanish preferred
- At least 3 years of experience in community health or with a similar patient population while in training is preferred
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, MD or DO

Erie Family Health Centers, a top workplace in Chicago and suburbs, is looking for a valuable addition to our Behavioral Health Team Psychiatrists diagnose, treat and help prevent psychiatric disorders in a community health center setting.
