    Position Description


    Probable Cause Court is a seven day a week, twenty-four hour a day operation that is responsible for processing magistrate warnings of criminal charges assigned to the County and District Court trying Criminal Cases and the County Criminal Courts at Law.


    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Prepare, file, distribute and maintain appropriate documents processed in the department and handle a variety of other tasks.
    • Perform on the job training of new employees using section training plan on needed computer skills. Maintain or help create appropriate section procedures.
    • Makes and maintains an accurate, permanent record of all court proceedings, and issues all process emanating from the Court. High stress, fast paced environment with over 84 Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Responsible for entries and processes affecting the liberties of individuals with criminal cases.
    • Assists judiciary, court staff, attorney's, outside agencies, and defendants simultaneously.
    • Achieve optimum efficiency to accomplish the goals of the District Clerk's Office as outlined in the Organization Strategic Plan, Section Operational Plan and Mission Statement.
    • Adhere to all Administrative Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Act as the liaison between the Courts and the District Clerk and other divisions within the District Clerk's Office and outside agencies.

    All applicants must register and take the HRRM Typing Skills Test and score a minimum of a typing speed of 40 W.P.M.

    and 90% accuracyand score at least80% on the grammar portion.

    Education and Experience:

    • College degree from an accredited college or university OR
    • Two (2) years court or office environment experience.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • No prior conviction for any felony or crime of moral turpitude.
    • Must be able to follow directions from judges, managers, supervisors, and shift team leaders.
    • Must be able to work without direct supervision, have excellent analytical, decision-making, prioritization and organizational skills.
    • Must have above average reading skills and excellent verbal and written communication.
    • Must have good grammar verbally and in written form.
    • Must be able to manage stress, work in a fast paced environment, and handle multiple tasks at once.
    • Must not be sensitive to testimony, gruesome sights and sounds.
    • Must be able to work overtime without prior notification and work flexible hours as required.
    • Must be available to stay on site for multiple shifts during a bad weather event.
    • Must be willing to travel to any destination required to participate or assist with office projects.
    • Must be able to maneuver including lifting and moving minimum of thirty (30) pounds.
    • Must have intermediate skill level of MS Office, especially MS Outlook, MS Word. And Excel.
    • Must possess clear and legible handwriting.
    • Must be able to type 40 words per minute with 90% accuracy and score at least 80% on the grammar portion.
    • Testing will be required.
    • Must be eligible for employment in the United States.

    • Regular Full-time
    • Sunday - Thursday | 11:00 P.M. - 7:00 A.M.

    Salary:
    * $ $20.00 Hourly

    • Depends on Qualifications
    • Based on 26 Pay Periods
    • Plus, benefits
    Employment is contingent upon passing a background check and drug screen.
