- Prepare, file, distribute and maintain appropriate documents processed in the department and handle a variety of other tasks.
- Perform on the job training of new employees using section training plan on needed computer skills. Maintain or help create appropriate section procedures.
- Makes and maintains an accurate, permanent record of all court proceedings, and issues all process emanating from the Court. High stress, fast paced environment with over 84 Standard Operating Procedures.
- Responsible for entries and processes affecting the liberties of individuals with criminal cases.
- Assists judiciary, court staff, attorney's, outside agencies, and defendants simultaneously.
- Achieve optimum efficiency to accomplish the goals of the District Clerk's Office as outlined in the Organization Strategic Plan, Section Operational Plan and Mission Statement.
- Adhere to all Administrative Standard Operating Procedures.
- Act as the liaison between the Courts and the District Clerk and other divisions within the District Clerk's Office and outside agencies.
- College degree from an accredited college or university OR
- Two (2) years court or office environment experience.
- No prior conviction for any felony or crime of moral turpitude.
- Must be able to follow directions from judges, managers, supervisors, and shift team leaders.
- Must be able to work without direct supervision, have excellent analytical, decision-making, prioritization and organizational skills.
- Must have above average reading skills and excellent verbal and written communication.
- Must have good grammar verbally and in written form.
- Must be able to manage stress, work in a fast paced environment, and handle multiple tasks at once.
- Must not be sensitive to testimony, gruesome sights and sounds.
- Must be able to work overtime without prior notification and work flexible hours as required.
- Must be available to stay on site for multiple shifts during a bad weather event.
- Must be willing to travel to any destination required to participate or assist with office projects.
- Must be able to maneuver including lifting and moving minimum of thirty (30) pounds.
- Must have intermediate skill level of MS Office, especially MS Outlook, MS Word. And Excel.
- Must possess clear and legible handwriting.
- Must be able to type 40 words per minute with 90% accuracy and score at least 80% on the grammar portion.
- Testing will be required.
- Must be eligible for employment in the United States.
