This position works closely with the Subsidiary President, Vice Presidents, Directors, Operations, and Site Management to communicate and implement the Safety, Health, and Environmental Programs (SH&EP) to the subsidiary company(s).

The subsidiary SH&EP Manager supports the strategic objectives, works within budgetary constraints, maintains compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations, promotes loss prevention programs, and protects the company's employees and physical assets from accidental loss or disruption.

The subsidiary SH&EP Manager is responsible for the management of SH&EP programs throughout the subsidiary company(s) and is responsible for the development and implementation of SH&EP programs to promote occupational safety, health, and environmental compliance and to reduce accidents, occupational illnesses, and exposures to long-term health hazards through hazard recognition, evaluation, and control practices to include: development of site-specific safety plans; safety training of supervisors, managers, and staff; planned inspections; planned job observations, rules and practices; job/activity analysis procedures; behavior-based safety programs; and other engineering, work practice/administrative and protective equipment Practices.

Salary range for this position is $124,637/year-$157,042/year.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Draft and assist in the implementation and monitoring of site-specific safety plans
Provide case management support and emergency response, including in-field incident response and investigation of accidents, near misses, and other issues
Work with, train, support, and monitor subsidiary Safety Administrators, site supervisors, and others (including hazard recognition and mitigation)
Conduct HSE training and file training records
Monitor, supply, train, and advise in the use of PPE
Responsible for implementation and enforcement of the Corporate Injury and Illness Prevention Program at the subsidiary level, case management systems, and related SH&EP programs
Provide expertise and site evaluation for operations including but not limited to environmental site remediation, hazardous waste operations, construction activities, administrative and ergonomic solutions support
Provide technical and professional leadership regarding applicable Safety, Health & Environmental regulations and issues specifically for site locations but also throughout the corporation and promote regulatory and corporate compliance via established auditing processes and gap-analysis
Coordinate, implement, and conduct training to comply with OSHA and all other regulatory requirements and company needs
Implement and assist in the maintenance of SH&EP programs, plans, and procedures for meeting and exceeding Safety Benchmark goals established with each subsidiary and/or operational site
Work with all departments to ensure Safety policies and practices are integrated into the company's operating procedures in an efficient manner
Participate in the AN SH&EP Committee
Other duties as assigned by subsidiary company management
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's level (4-year) degree in Engineering, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental, Risk Management, or related field
A Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental health
At least three (3) years of this experience must be in working with government contracts or employers subject to government contracting regulations
Demonstrated experience in delivering training, developing site safety plans, incident investigations and reporting, HSE improvement programs, OSHA regulations, and behavior-based safety
Demonstrated case management experience
Practical knowledge of OSHA, NIOSH, EPA, DEC, DOT, and similar regulatory agencies
Ability to work in challenging field conditions on an extended field schedule
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
Valid Driver's License and proof of a satisfactory driving record
Preferred Qualifications
BSCP Certification (CHST, OHST, CSP, ASP, or equivalent)
Environmental testing, compliance, and reporting experience
Experience and knowledge of Alaska Native cultures

The employee is regularly required to talk, including the ability to pass on information via the telephone, and verbally communicate with clients, staff, and other employees, hear and see to perform his or her duties safely, including occasionally driving.

The ability to sit for long periods, climb ladders, lift up to 35 lbs., walk, bend, push, pull, squat, and stand for long periods is needed to perform all requirements of this position.

May require work 7 days each week for extended periods, with frequent need for extended hours. May require work in extreme conditions, including extreme cold, heat, confined space, rain, and snow.
