Job Summary:

This position provides support for the Medical Staff Services department under the direction of the Medical Staff Manager. The Credentialing Specialist performs confidential administrative and credentialing functions, ensuring timely completion of applications and supporting documents for medical staff and allied health professionals.

Working under general supervision, this role requires flexibility with various shifts, potential overtime, and callback as needed. It may also involve on-campus presence before, during, and after severe weather or disasters.

Responsibilities:

Administers appointment and change in status processes for medical staff and allied health professionals.
Maintains accurate and up-to-date applications and supporting documents.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree required; some college education preferred.
Experience in a healthcare-related field is advantageous.
CPCS or CPMSM certification is highly desirable.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and database systems is essential.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask are crucial.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including accurate minute-taking and report presentation.
Knowledge of Joint Commission regulations, federal and state laws, and medical terminology is necessary.

Work Environment:

This role involves working under general supervision, with a flexible schedule that may include various shifts, overtime, and callbacks as required. On-campus presence may be necessary before, during, and after severe weather or disasters.
