Job summary

Extended Recovery Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) providing high-quality patient care to post op orthopedic patients, encouraging early, frequent mobilization, assisting with activities of daily living, providing emotional support, and ensuring patient safety throughout their journey to recovery.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care functions by complying with established protocols, policies, procedures, and standards based on individual patient needs under the direction of licensed nursing personnel to ensure quality patient care
• Function as a team member by demonstrating initiative and flexibility in the completion of workload to provide high-quality, efficient patient care
• Interact with patients and other health care professionals utilizing appropriate communication skills so that efficiency, productivity, and quality of care are enhanced
• Perform clerical tasks and patient registration activities to ensure efficient workflow in the unit
• Must be able to work from detailed verbal or written instructions and use judgment for routine situations
• Maintain patient medical records by following correct procedures to ensure accurate and timely availability of patient information
• Comply with safety activities, policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and The Joint Commission
• Participating in teaching, orienting and guiding other employees by sharing knowledge and master skills
• Able to communicate effectively to solve problems in routine situations
• Must have patience, self-confidence, maturity, compassion and always remain a team player
• Employee is responsible for all other duties assigned for which competency has been demonstrated
