- Lead the Communications Division that consists of 26 employees that include 5 people leaders that deliver all functions of Communications to the organization.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate an annual communication strategy in support of the FM&T mission and strategic objectives.
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with key stakeholders and government partners.
- Manage the FM&T brand voice and maintain brand integrity across all platforms.
- Manage media relations and develop contacts with media members (local and industry), influencers and community leaders in strong partnership with our Government Relations Office.
- Directs FM&T Community Affairs efforts and oversees relationships with community stakeholders and community relations investments.
- Direct the creation of digital, video, audio and print content and track engagement across various platforms and make data driven decisions.
- Ensure the organization is well connected and perceived as a leader with our customer and our peers from other companies (via industry engagements, speaking opportunities, awards) as well as internally (transparent communications, recognition, education, visibility).
- Direct the team for event management for the KCNSC to include town halls, offsite events, VIP visits, etc.
- Drive a measurement mindset to demonstrate effectiveness of communication programs.
- Demonstrate a high level of business acumen and deep experience in crafting effective messaging in complex organizations.
- Bring forward best-in-class communication ideas, programs, processes, and standards.
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business, or related field.
- 10+ years experience in corporate communications or related experience, including 2+ years experience in directly managing a team.
- Ability to travel up to 10 % of the time.
- Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
- United States Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain,a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).
- 5 years' experience serving in anadvanced manufacturing organization, preferably in the defense industry or in a government contracting environment.
- Advanced Degree (e.g. MBA ).
- Demonstrated ability to develop communication strategies and drive results.
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to coach, mentor and develop a team.
- Ability to instill confidence, leadership and inspire others.
- Ability to influence in a highly matrixed corporate environment.
- Highly collaborative style and relationship builder with the flexibility to manage by influence.
- Ability to take information and transform it into useful message and disseminate it to the right audiences through the best distribution channels.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are required, as is Associated Press Style.

Summary
The Director of Strategic Communications reports to the Senior Director of Human Resources and Communications and is responsible for all communications functions at Honeywell FM&T that include internal, external and customer communications, brand and community affairs, the protocol office, and digital media. This role is responsible to establish and direct the strategy and staff for all communications functions supporting Honeywell FM&T. This leader will work closely with the FM&T leadership team as a trusted advisor as well as coordinate communications with on-site NNSA Federal partners, Department of Energy (DOE) customers and our Honeywell parent company.
