Job summary

This is a continuous recruitment for an applicant pool to fill part-time, substitute, temporary or hourly assignments on an as needed basis.

Performs recurring clerical and technical library duties involving requesting, receiving, cataloging and referencing processing circulation of library materials. Provides information and assistance to library customers.

Serves as the primary customer service resource in the circulation area to staff students and the public. Assists faculty staff students visitors with use of the library assists them to find materials use resource guides.

Conducts walk-and-talk orientations for students staff in areas such as but not limited general use of the library periodical research bibliographic search internet search or use electronic media.

Demonstrates cataloging performs basic reference services shelves new returned materials books media periodicals data entry into the library system mends repairs book non-book materials disposes damaged outdated according established procedures maintains clean orderly environment circulates stores inventories books audiovisual materials overdue maintains records lost overdue fines issuing grade record holds student account balances processes range library within established parameters interlibrary loans course reserve collection maintains current procedure manuals cross-trains other members coordinates designs constructs displays bulletin boards posters signs checks-out sets up delivers picks various equipment classrooms requests provides guidance training student employees performs routine duties supplies other assigned support objective position
