Job summary
The position involves operating equipment and performing manual work functions associated with various Utility projects.Operates a variety of equipment, machinery, and tools such as a dump truck, tractor,
tamping machine roller cement mixer chipper jackhammer chainsaw pole saw concrete saw shovel rake axe level/flat rod mechanic tool etc. Transports loads/unloads various equipment materials. Performs manual work functions construction maintenance projects laying pipes cutting pipes repairing sewer mains/pipes cutting/repairing sewer taps building/repairing manholes building/reparing catch basins clearing sewage/storm lines repairing roadways/driveways patching holes rolling packing pavement cutting asphalt setting grades setting sidewalk forms pouring concrete finishing concrete laying bricks cleaning streets cutting tree limbs loading limbs into chipper digging holes/trenches lifting/moving heavy materials shoveling materials picking up debris/litter flagging traffic etc. Checks maintains supply of equipment tools supplies for use at work sites Prepares completes various forms correspondence reports documents Receives reviews processes forwards retains appropriate documentation Communicates via telephone twoway radio provides information takes relays messages responds to requests for service Responds routine requests information employees officials public individuals Provides assistance other employees departments needed Minimum qualifications High school diploma or GED required Additionally one year previous experience training involving equipment operation construction/maintenance work preferred Any equivalent combination education training experience which provides requisite knowledge skills abilities this job Must possess maintain valid Georgia Driver License Commercial Drivers License preferred but not required this position
