Information Security Engineer
Boston, MA (Hybrid Three days onsite and two offsite)
35.00 Hours Per Week
Client is currently seeking a skilled Security Engineer for an immediate contract opportunity. This role plays a pivotal part in safeguarding information security needs through a combination of daily tasks and project-based endeavors.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate, design, and deploy security solutions to meet requirements.
• Conduct cyber incident response and implement firewall changes as needed.
• Monitor various security products and audit logs for potential threats.
• Provide technical guidance and support to IT staff and end users regarding security issues.
• Ensure adherence to security policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge in key information security domains such as access control systems, firewalls, and Intrusion Detection/Prevention.
• Proficiency in operating system administration for servers and desktops, along with network and application security.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.
• Coding skills in C, Java, PERL, Python, or similar languages strongly preferred.
• Experience with firewalls and Intrusion Detection/Prevention systems is advantageous.
• Security certification such as CISSP, SANS, or similar is desirable.
