    Job Description: RAM Aerospace is seeking an experienced and motivated CNC Programmer and Setup Employee to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, 3, 4, and 5-axis Mill and Lathe machines and has extensive knowledge of Mastercam programming for CNC machines to produce precision components according to project specifications. An ideal candidate is required to have excellent skills in planning, developing, and organizing manufacturing processes, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

    Responsibilities:

    • Plan, develop, and organize manufacturing processes and product configurations according to blueprints and engineering drawings.
    • Prepare CNC machining programs using Mastercam software based on engineering drawings and specifications and determine part dimensions and cutting configurations.
    • Releases shop and assembly travelers according to production requirements.
    • Works with Engineering staff concerning manufacturing processes and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.

    · Create fixture designs using 3D modeling SolidWorks software.

    • Set up CNC machines including tooling, fixtures, and workpieces.
    • Determine appropriate tool types and sizes based on metal stock hardness and cutting requirements.
    • Perform material changeovers and troubleshoot material system issues as needed.
    • Perform machine adjustments and tool changes as necessary to ensure quality and efficiency.
    • Organize tooling and monitor tool run status to ensure optimal performance.
    • Conduct start-up and set-up inspections of parts to verify dimensional accuracy and First Article efforts before production runs and verify dimensions and tolerances of finished components using precision measuring instruments.
    • Interpret blueprints, geometric dimensions and tolerances, sketches, and written specifications to lay out work and provide follow-up verbal instructions as necessary.
    • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols, regulations, and AS9100 Compliance.
    • Collaborate with production teams to optimize manufacturing processes.
    • Troubleshoot issues related to CNC programming, machine setup, and tooling.
    • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, providing detailed and legible information for work performed.
    • Accomplish organizational goals by taking ownership of tasks and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
    • Utilize and apply AS9100 procedures, processes, instructions, and data collection methods as applicable.
    • Perform any other duties as directed by management.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in CNC programming and setup
    • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (i.e., SolidWorks, Mastercam).
    • Proven experience as a CNC programmer and setup employee, with a strong understanding of machining processes and tooling requirements.
    • Proficiency in reading blueprints, sketches, GD&T symbols, and written specifications.
    • Proven track record of problem-solving, process improvements, and productivity implementation in a machine shop and assembly/test environment.
    • Ability to deal with problems involving variable situations in a manufacturing environment.
    • Knowledge of inspection procedures and specifications.
    • Experience with 5-axis and mill-turn machining centers is a plus.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management.
    • Familiarity with AS 9100 procedures and processes is desirable.
    • Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and take on new challenges as needed.
    • Self-starter with a positive attitude: desire to seek creative solutions, learn, and adapt to a changing landscape.

    Pay:

    $35-$40+ per hour

    Compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, an individual's qualifications, experience, and alignment with market data.

    Work Setting: In-person

    Schedule:

    8-hour day shifts, 9:00am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday.

    Weekends and overtime are optionally available as needed.
