GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Electrophysiology Specialist is responsible for performing exams under the direction of a physician in the electrophysiology laboratory.
The Specialist is trained to assist the physician during diagnostic and interventional electrophysiology procedures and well as device implants and to monitor the patient's hemodynamic status throughout.
The Specialist is trained to perform assessment as it relates to the cardiovascular disease process.The Specialist takes a lead role in the electrophysiology laboratory as it relates to the performance of procedures, management of inventory and billing and charging of procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/
Skills Required:1.New York State license as a Radiologic Technologist required.2.Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) required.
Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) candidates will be considered first.3.New York State Department of Health Contract Certification required.4.Minimum of five (5) years' experience in Electrophysiology laboratory required.5.Minimum participation in 200 electrophysiology procedures (ICD, Bi-V, EP study or ablation).6.ACLS required.
