The Direct Care Provider is a unique and exciting position where no one day is the same The Direct Care Provider delivers services in a group home or residential setting to members experiencing mental health issues. The Direct Care Provider supports members with maintaining and improving their physical and mental health to gain greater independence in the community. The Direct Care Provider delivers 1:1 or group services in a home setting, providing support in maintaining a safe living environment, assisting with self-administration of medications, coordinating with other providers, developing socialization opportunities, and increasing connections with the community. You will be part of a phenomenal team, working with leadership that will provide you with weekly 1:1 supervision, bi-weekly team meetings, and monthly clinical oversight. Each day is a unique experience You could spend your morning helping members keep their living environment safe and healthy and your afternoon bowling or hiking. Or it is possible that you may take members to the library in the morning and spend your afternoon teaching symptom management skills to improve quality of life. Each site offers unique programming based on the skills and passions of our Direct Care Providers. We are seeking an experienced Direct Care Provider with a consumer-focused and directed approach to their profession to join our Toby I residential program in central Phoenix.
Our current shift availability is Monday through Friday 7a-3pm
Minimum requirement consists of a 21-year age, an Associate's degree and two years of full-time behavioral health experience. Bachelor's degree with 6 months of behavioral health experience preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to behavioral health totaling two years is acceptable.
Valid AZ driver's license and 39 month MVR clearance is required. Must be eligible and/or have a valid Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Knowledge of behavioral management, de-escalation methods, crisis intervention, and defusing techniques to prevent violent behavior harmful to self or others and the ability to apply these techniques to a client population in various levels of crisis. Academic & working knowledge of DSM IV, community resources, clinical methods and procedures and application of the same. Residential experience, knowledge of psychotropic medications.
Ability to communicate well in writing and verbally. Basic knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office. Ability to perform duties with a minimum of supervision. Ability to function as a team member. Experience working with multi-cultural and low socio-economic individuals. General knowledge & aptitude for working independently with adults of mixed ethnic groups. Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking preferred.
