    Position Summary

    The Machine Learning Engineering Intern will support the development, testing and integration of machine-learning algorithm of medical devices. This individual will work closely with our principal and senior level engineers to develop tests for medical devices.

    Responsibilities:
    • Design, prototype, develop, and test the machine-learning based image processing algorithms
    • Design Python/MATLAB GUI tools as image/signal processing prototyping toolkits
    • Support to the integration of machine learning algorithm to products
    • Documentation for all phases of product development
    • Routine communication with peers and supervisors including documentation of work, meetings, and decisions
    Training to be Provided

    Students will be exposed to working with various product development and R&D departments within the Bracco Medical Technologies (BMT) organization. They will learn key requirements which need to be followed in a regulated environment such as the medical device industry.

    Additionally, our interns and co-ops benefit from a buddy program, career development programming, and opportunities to build their professional networks virtually and in-person with BMT professionals.

    Qualifications

    Required:
    • Background in image and signal processing
    • Depth of knowledge in deep neural network such as CNN
    • Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow)
    • Knowledge/experience with Python programming
    • Proficiency in MATLAB
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Passion to learn and good attitude
    • Knowledge/experience developing GUI is a plus
    • Basic debugging and troubleshooting skills
    Preferred:
    • Graduate students (either M.S. or Ph.D.) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field
    • Experience with image processing algorithms

    • Pleasanton, CA (mostly remote but occasionally in-person at the Pleasanton office)
    Term/Hours
    • Summer 2024, May start
    • Hours: 40 hours per week
