    PeaceHealth is seeking a Injury Prevention Coordinator - Trauma for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The general salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $ $41.21.

    The actual hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the job/position responsibilities, location, terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, education, training, work experience, seniority, work performance, etc.

    Under the direction of the Trauma Program Director, the Injury Prevention Coordinator/Trauma Educator is responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of injury prevention, education, and outreach activities.

    The position will partner with the community with the goal of reducing morbidity and mortality from traumatic injuries.


    Details of the Position:

    • Develops public awareness for and coordinates education programs on injury prevention for communities. Provides trauma and injury prevention related continuing education program for healthcare community (physicians, nurses, pre-hospital personnel and allied health professionals. Establishes criteria to monitor effectiveness of injury prevention programs and outcomes of trauma care.
    • Utilizes data from the Trauma Registry, national and state resources, to prioritize, plan, and implement injury prevention efforts.
    • Analyzes data and tracks program effectiveness to measure impact and identify areas for improvement.
    • Identifies learning and community education needs as assessed via mail surveys, site visits, course evaluations and/or trauma registry.
    • Provides, coordinates, and teaches education programs and certification courses.
    • Serves as event coordinator for Advanced Trauma Life Support, Pediatric Trauma Care After Resuscitation, Trauma Care After Resuscitation, and Rural Trauma Team Development Course.
    • Identifies and initiates contact with sources for funding injury prevention related projects including leading and completing project protocols and grant applications.
    • Identifies, pursues, and obtains sources of program support and/or grant funding. Implements and monitors grant programs for compliance with their specific requirements. Coordinates with Development on grant proposals. Seek and obtain funding through other venues including Safe Kids Worldwide and the American Trauma Society.
    • Develops and maintains a public presence for the injury prevention program, which may include selecting appropriate materials for purchase; maintaining appropriate stock of materials; developing brochures, audiovisual aids and presentation handouts; overseeing and updating trauma pages on the intranet and internet websites; and generating semi-annual report documenting program accomplishments.
    • Conducts community education programs for diverse populations and coordinates responses to requests for injury prevention information.
    • Stays up to date on the latest evidence-based practices in trauma care and injury prevention.
    • Represents PeaceHealth at local and statewide injury prevention coalitions, organizations, and in the community.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    What You Bring:
    Education


    • Bachelor's

    Degree Required:
    preferred in public health or healthcare related field, or a combination of education and experience that provides the caregiver with the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job

    Experience


    • Minimum of 2 years Required: Experience in healthcare in a role involving injury prevention, clinical education, performance/quality improvement, data analysis, and outreach program planning on a health system and community level.
    Clinical Experience Emergency Department, Critical Care Nursing
    • Required:

    Experience to demonstrate ability to successfully develop injury prevention and outreach programs, conduct focused research on injury prevention, publish and other scholarly pursuits.

    Experience developing and delivering educational programs.

    Credentials


    • Required: Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum
    • Required Upon Hire: Basic Life Support
    • Required: Drivers License Oregon state
    • Preferred: Child Passenger Safety Certification
    • Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support - Instructor
    • Preferred: Pediatric Advanced Life Support - Instructor
    • Preferred: Trauma Certified Registered Nurse
    • Preferred: Trauma Care After Resuscitation
    • Preferred: Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum Instructor
    Skills


    • Proficient computer skills including all Microsoft Office applications. (Required)
