When Filled Salary and Benefits:
- Starting at $15.00/hour - $16.00/hour for 16-17 year olds.
- Starting at $16.00/hour - $17.00/hour for those 18+.
- Complimentary Fitness Center and Coral Cove Water Park membership, two Coyote Crossing Mini Golf Passes, recognition awards, and social activities.
Hours:
- Part-time position (employees do not work more than 1,000 hours in a calendar year).
Job Requirements:
- Ability to work independently or with limited direction.
- Ability to assume responsibilities as required for successful daily swim lessons, including issues related to staffing, safety, customer services, and lesson plans.
- Create and effectively implement lesson plans appropriate to program level, and participant's abilities.
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude while performing duties, and while on park district premises.
- Continue education by attending staff meetings and training sessions.
- Maintain and carry out all Carol Stream Park District's rules and regulations.
- Maintain and promote excellent customer service relations with patrons, parents, and other affiliates.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all general and department safety rules. Strictly enforce all general safety rules and improve public and employee knowledge by preventing, confronting and correcting unsafe behavior.
- Support, follow, administer and implement Carol Stream Park District policies, procedures, guidelines, and crisis management plans in a professional and positive manner.
- Perform other related duties and/or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of swimming skills; knowledge of organizing and conducting swimming lessons; previous experience in working with children is preferred.
- Must have the ability to communicate instructions in a professional and enthusiastic manner.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills, and work well with the public and other staff.
- Ability to establish a positive rapport by using tact and discretion with participants, parents, and staff.
- Must display a high degree of emotional maturity while keeping difficult situations in proper perspective.
- Must be detail oriented to be able to process information accurately.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
