    Description

    Summary

    This is a Nursing Assistant (NA) role located within the Grand Island VA Medical Center at 2201 N. Broadwell Avenue on the 3rd floor. The VA Community Living Centers offer extended hospital care and short-term rehabilitation for Veterans, providing assistance with daily activities, nursing, and dementia care.

    Duties

    The CLC has 37 beds serving eligible Veterans requiring skilled healthcare, rehabilitation, or dementia/neurocognitive support for short stays (100 days or less). The main responsibilities of the CLC Nursing Assistant include:

    • Taking and recording vital signs
    • Assisting with personal care activities
    • Performing basic medical procedures
    • Setting up medical equipment
    • Supporting patient rehabilitation goals
    • Promoting patient independence
    • Participating in suicide prevention initiatives
    • Responding to emergencies
    • Documenting patient activities
    • Interacting with patients' families
    • Performing other assigned tasks
    Work Schedule: Full-time Evening Shift, from 1:45 PM to 10:15 PM, working Sundays to Saturdays with rotating weekends and holidays.

    Additional Pay:
    • Shift Differential - 10% of basic pay for nighttime work
    • Weekend Premium - 25% of basic pay for weekend shifts
    • Holiday Pay - 2 times basic hourly rate for work on holidays.
