    Title: Buyer (Flooring & Building Supplies)

    Remote, but prefer someone who resides in the SouthEast Region (Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Florida)

    Our client, a building supply company with multiple locations in the southeast, is looking for a buyer who is well-versed in the procurement of flooring and millwork and has a strong sense of field economics. This role will lead sourcing and procurement for 5 Building Supply locations and will be the primary driver/relationship manager with end-to-end responsibility for developing and managing partner accounts.

    Requirements:

    • 3+ years of buying/merchandise planning experience with flooring or building supplies.
    • Demonstrated experience with vendor sourcing and management in flooring and/or building supplies
    • Experience defining and detailing merchandising strategy (Pricing, Merchandising, Allocation, Marketing, Processing) for all assigned accounts.
    • Demonstrated field economics experience for authoring deal evaluations for selling strategy.
    • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, supply chain management highly preferred
    • Available to travel 20%
    • Soft Skills Driver personality, sense of urgency, and ability to communicate effectively within all levels of an organization and be comfortable authoring financial and merchandising vision and presenting to VP-level partners quarterly.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead in providing updates, extracting lessons, and scaling engagement.
    • Grow revenue-sharing partnerships with both new and existing partners.
    • Coordinate with planning teams for weekly buying and purchasing plans.
    • Work closely with allocation, merchandise & planning for seamless transitions before deals are finalized.
    • Spearhead strategy and make recommendations on weekly promotional discussions for specific accounts.
    • Enhance market presence and credibility through trade shows, pitches, and conferences alongside business development.
    • Serve as the go-to expert for your categories, ensuring merchandising aligns with customer values.
    • Align with Finance on financial matters through collaboration with your assistant buyer.
    • Work with Business Development to identify and convert new account opportunities for recurring partner flow.

    Reporting & Process Improvement Responsibilities:

    • Lead Quarterly Business Review (QBR) Meetings with SLT & VP for assigned partners.
    • Collaborate with allocation/pricing/ supply chain to measure productivity of partner accounts.
    • Document and implement best practices to continuously improve partner management process.
