    Minimum Qualifications

    :


    • Ph.
    D., M.D/DO., or equivalent terminal degree


    • Evidence of substantial formal training in bioethics, medical ethics, and/or humanities

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Preference will be given to applicants with one or more of the following additional attributes:


    • Experience teaching bioethics and humanities for medical students, residents, and/or graduate
    students.


    • Experience in teaching other basic, clinical, or health system sciences
    • Experience leading or assisting in the delivery of courses to medical students and/or graduate
    students


    • Formal training or experience in educational theory, instructional design, and/or evaluation and
    assessment


    • A track record of scholarship related to their terminal degree or medical education
    • Experience with computer or simulation-based instructional methods
    Physician candidates applying who are interested in practicing medicine must be Board Certified
    (ABMS recognized), must qualify for an unrestricted Alabama Medical License, or must agree to obtain an unrestricted Alabama Medical License within 2 years of employment.
