    Job Title

    Respiratory Therapist/Respiratory Care Practitioner Job Summary

    As a Respiratory Therapist/Respiratory Care Practitioner, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of patients with respiratory disorders. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct pulmonary function tests, assess patient evaluations and test results, and develop treatment plans in consultation with physicians.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Administer respiratory therapy treatments by performing bronchopulmonary drainage, assisting with breathing exercises, and monitoring physiological responses to therapy.
    • Evaluate the effects of respiratory therapy treatment plans by observing, noting, and evaluating patient progress, recommending adjustments and modifications as needed.
    • Complete discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare workers, contributing to patient care conferences.
    • Assure continuation of therapeutic plans following discharge by designing home exercise programs, instructing patients, families, and caregivers, and recommending outpatient or home health follow-up programs.
    • Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.

    Requirements

    • At least 2 years of prior experience in a related field.
    • Physical stamina to perform duties that require standing, walking, and lifting objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain confidentiality.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    Working Conditions

    This position requires frequent variations in activity levels, including sitting, walking, standing, kneeling, reaching, and stooping. The employee must be able to see clearly in low-light conditions and have the ability to adjust focus to work on a computer and read documents.
